A
Little About Us....
In May of 1980 my
parents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
My brother and I decided to give them a great party
that they would remember. We made arrangements for
a dinner for family and friends at a private dining
room, and then afterwards we planned for every one
to come to our house for a reception and more visiting.
The only thing was, I got to looking at the less
than spectacular 1970's light hanging over our dining
room table.

A friend of my Mother's was an Interior Decorator and
she suggested that I look for an Antique Chandelier.
Sad to say, I had never even been in an Antique Shop.
So we did go and found a brass hanging fixture with
original shades from the 1920's. It was in terrible
condition; the brass was black and it would have to
be rewired. I wasn't too sure about this but my husband
who is very handy assured me that he could fix it.
He took it completely apart, polished it and rewired
it and it was beautiful! We were hooked.
We started looking at other antiques and getting a
few things for our house and got so interested in them
that in 1983 we opened a shop in Albuquerque,NM where
we were living then.
In the late 80's Antique Malls started springing up
and we had spaces in three different malls while we
still had our shop open. In 1991 we retired and sold
our house in Albuquerque and moved full time to our
place at Bluewater Lake 100 miles west of Albuquerque.
We built a new shop next to our house. As we were getting
older and it was hard for us to move furniture, we
fazed that out and concentrated on small antiques and
light fixtures and also started carrying hand made
Country Crafts as they blended in well with Antiques.
Lamps and lighting fixtures became our most popular
items and one of the nicest projects my husband did
while still in Albuquerque was for a group of lawyers.
They bought a 1903 Victorian house near Old Town and
completely restored it. We furnished the whole house
with hanging fixtures from the late 1800's to early
1900's. Modern lights would not look right in a setting
like that. They loved it and it looked like it had
always been that way.
We also carry some Reproduction Lamps and Shades; Vintage
and Contemporary Jewelry; Native American Jewelry and
textiles and quilted items both old and new.
